Luna Campers Sweden rental terms

Driver requirements

• Minimum age 23, maximum age 80.
• Full category B driving licence held for at least 3 consecutive years. Suspended or restricted licences are not accepted.
• An EU licence or an International Driving Permit is enough — no special motorhome licence is needed for any vehicle in the fleet.

Deposit and insurance

• Full "Zen" insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance are included in every rental at no extra cost.
• Zen excess / security deposit: 15,000 SEK, held on a credit card at pickup and released on return if there is no damage.
• Optional "Guru" cover reduces the excess and deposit to 5,500 SEK for 385 SEK per night (minimum charge applies).
• Insurance covers the vehicle only, including fire, theft, vandalism and windscreen damage. It does not cover driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, unlicensed drivers, off-road use, overloading or gross negligence. Personal belongings should be covered by your own travel insurance.

Service fee

A one-off service fee applies to every booking and is already included in the price shown. It covers disinfection, bed linen and towels, a full cooking kit with gas, an outdoor table, chairs and hammock, 12V fans, mosquito protection and a hair dryer. The service fee is non-refundable.

Mileage and fuel

• Unlimited kilometres within Sweden.
• Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at pickup. Use only good-quality diesel.
• Fuel, campsite fees and road or congestion charges are not included.

Rental length and times

• Minimum rental 3 nights, all year round.
• Pickup and return between 09:00 and 17:00. Rentals are charged in 24-hour periods: returning later than the booked time is charged as an extra day.
• Early pickup (07:00–09:00) and late return (17:00–20:00) can be arranged with Luna Campers for an extra fee.

Cancellations and changes

• More than 6 months before pickup: 10% of the rental price.
• 6 months to 8 weeks before pickup: 30%.
• 8 to 4 weeks before pickup: 50%.
• Less than 4 weeks before pickup: 100%, no refund.
• The service fee is non-refundable.
• Up to one month before pickup the booking can be postponed (subject to availability) in exchange for a voucher valid for 6 months.

Travel outside Sweden

Travel to other EU countries and to Norway is allowed with prior approval from Luna Campers and an extra cover of 250 SEK per night. Ferries are allowed. Tell them which countries, for how long and where you plan to stay. One-way rentals are not available: the vehicle must be returned to Uppsala.

Pets and smoking

Pets are welcome, with a biological cleaning fee after the trip. Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly forbidden.

On the road in Sweden

• Winter tyres are mandatory in the winter months. Snow chains are part of the equipment.
• Motorhomes may stay overnight only where normal parking is allowed. The right of public access (Allemansrätten) does not allow driving off-road.
• Empty the grey water tank and the toilet and clean the interior before returning the vehicle, otherwise a cleaning fee is charged.
• Fines, parking and congestion charges are paid by the renter.

Good to know

• Soft bags are recommended; large suitcases can be stored at the base.
• Everyone must wear a seat belt while the vehicle is moving, and nobody may sleep in the beds while driving.
• Swedish law applies to the rental agreement.
