TERMS OF USE & RENTAL
AGREEMENT
CAMPERVAN SWEDEN
Scandinavian Travel Services ehf.
Age Requirements and Driving Licenses
At the time of the rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license which has been held for at least 1 year. The minimum age requirement for every vehicle in our fleet under 3.500kg is 21 years old.
Vehicle Types
All bookings are subject to availability at the time of reservation. For operational reasons, Campervan Sweden reserves the right to substitute vehicles of a similar category or a higher one, where necessary.
Making a Reservation
In order to get your reservation processed, we require a booking fee payable by card on our website.
We reserve the right to cancel any orders containing pricing errors within 10 days of the date of your booking or in the case of lack of availability from the provider. In such circumstances, we will notify you.
Should you have any query relating to vehicle models and availability, you can contact our customer service agents at info@campervansweden.com.
Terms of Payment and Security Deposit
When booking online, a booking fee will be charged to your credit card. This fee will be deducted from the reservation’s total.
The fee can range from 15% to 100% (full payment) depending on the vehicle model. The system will automatically calculate the percentage, and it will be displayed during the booking process.
At the time of rental, an authorized hold will be placed on the credit card provided to cover any additional charges. These include (but are not limited to), extra insurance, parking fines, damages, or any cost incurred during the rental period. The currency converter is for informative purposes only and should not be relied upon as accurate and in real-time; actual rates may vary. Obvious errors and mistakes, including misprints, are not binding.
We will place an authorized hold that may vary depending on the insurance excess and the rented vehicle. For Motorhomes Compact Standard, Compact Plus, Family Standard, Comfort Plus and Family Plus, the amount will correspond to the insurance excess, which is 11,000 SEK. This hold must be made upon collection using an acceptable card (MasterCard or Visa).
The authorized hold for other Motorhome models could be up to 28.000 SEK, depending on the selected insurance.
Debit / Prepaid cards or cash are not accepted as a deposit at the beginning of rental anywhere.
The deposit will be released by the provider once the final account is settled. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition in which it was given at the start of the rental. Toll road companies, parking ticket issuers etc. may need up to 4 weeks to send potential claims.
Any extra charge incurred during your rental, paid in advance by the supplier, will be deducted from the security deposit upon your return of the vehicle.
Cancellation policy
The minimum notice we require for shortening the rental period of a vehicle is 40 days. We cannot provide a refund for unused time - this applies to both late collection and/or early return of a vehicle. The same conditions apply once the rental has started. This is because we will be unable to rent out this vehicle again.
The cancellation fee is the total cost of the rental.
Pick Up and Drop Off Service
Vehicles must be collected and returned within the opening hours of the relevant rental location. Such schedules are published on our website and are available on the booking engine when making a reservation.
Motorhome vehicle preparation requires more time as compared to a regular car. Interior and exterior cleaning, as well as mechanical checks, can take several hours. Therefore, in some cases, our providers may not be able to guarantee pickup/drop off of the motorhome at the client’s requested time. Should Campervan Sweden become aware of this, immediate notification will be provided to the client.
Vehicle Types
Motorhome/campervan rental providers are unable to guarantee a particular make or model of any vehicle. The vehicle advertised may be substituted for a similar alternative model or an upgrade.
We do guarantee that the minimum occupancy requirements of your vehicle will be met. Be advised that vehicle layout and bed configuration cannot be guaranteed.
Service Fee
Motorhomes are delivered after being cleaned both inside and out. A full tank of gas will also be provided to the client. Vehicles must be returned by the renter in the same condition as they were handed it. Outside cleaning is not necessary, but the following actions are needed:
Garbage must be disposed of, the water tank and WC tank must be emptied, the gas tank must be returned full, and all personal items removed from the vehicle.
Otherwise, the renter will be liable for a cleaning fee.
Extras
Several extras are available when booking online. Most extras can also be added upon pick up, if desired. The array of extras may change depending on the vehicle model. Only the named driver and extra drivers listed on your rental agreement can drive the vehicle. The person who rented the vehicle bears the same responsibility for the actions of any driver to whom he or she supplies the vehicle as for his or her own.
Insurance
Third party liability is the minimum amount of coverage a driver must have as stipulated by the law. This also applies to the amount of individual driver liability. Third-party coverage and basic personal accident insurance are included in your rental by default, as is required by the law.
Roadside Assistance
All rentals are covered by roadside assistance.
In the event of an accident or damage, a report must be filled out and the renter should inform the provider. If the battery of the vehicle you are renting dies due to negligence during your rental, and you decide to utilize the breakdown service to recharge it, then you will be responsible for all of the costs incurred.
The Fuel Tank
The rental vehicle will be given with a full tank and it should be returned with the same fuel level. If the vehicle was not given to you with a full tank, you should return the vehicle with the same fuel level at which you received it.
Otherwise, the renter will be charged for diesel and may be liable for a refueling fee.
Filling up using the wrong kind of fuel, accidentally putting fuel in the fresh water tank or making other mistakes that are not covered by the insurance company imply that the renter assumes responsibility for all expenses needed to remedy the problem.
Traveling outside the vehicle collection country
For Sweden, journeys inside the Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden and Finland) are allowed. Travelling to countries outside of Sweden, Finland and Norway, but inside Europe, is only allowed with the prior approval of the rental station.
Campervan Sweden cannot be held responsible for the actions of the rental provider. During natural disasters, the cancellation period will be cancelled and no cancellations will be possible (less medical cases duly certified). Campervan Sweden can only mediate between the customer and the rental provider on any issues that have arisen as a result of the use of the rental vehicle. Campervan Sweden cannot be held liable under any circumstances for compensation to the customer.
